Waterdwellings IJburg is a 75 floating and dike houses project for the social rental sector and the low and high-end private housing sector. Designed by Dutch studio Architectenbureau Marlies Rohmer, Waterdwelligns IJburg results in a residential community which floats upon the IJburg Lake. Although the development area had geometrical restrictions, the plot distribution seems detached and informal. This effect has been achieved by varying the distances between the dwellings as well as their orientation, creating a simple play of continuous varying views for each home.
