Chicago’s Navy Pier is one of the greatest living legacies of Daniel Burnham’s (1846-1912) plans for a grand public waterfront. While the pier is widely used by the people it lacks physical and visual connections back to the city.
The tandem team between AECOM and BIG have been shortlisted from the international design competition to renovate and reactivate Chicago’s landmark Navy Pier. Their proposal is Pier+, an exciting destination in Chicago that enjoys new amenities for both locals and visitors.
