Oficina d’Arquitectura has shared with ILikeArchitecture their Casa da Ladeira (House on the Slope) project. Casa da Ladeira is a residence overlooking the mountain scenery of Serra da Freita, in northern Portugal. As clearly appreciated in the house’s exterior texture, this residence has been built with horizontal bands of concrete and planks of wood for doors and windows; materials that blend with the granite rock terrain.
Oficina d’Arquitectura on the project:
A mountain scenery with a dominated by granite rock where mankind little marked its presence comes the demand to create an object that will blend with the landscape. The exposed concrete responds to the material demand and the volume breaks up as it follows the slope.
