The New York Times reports on a superb urban planning and infrastructure initiative at Denmark’s capital:
A new initiative in Copenhagen aims at building miles of bicycle highways that offer cyclists a safer and faster way to commute.
The City of Copenhagen is currently planning to expand the existing, extensive network of bike lanes to extend farther out into the suburbs. A network of 13 high-class routes – ‘bicycle superhighways’ – dedicated to bicycle commuters and aimed at encouraging more to cycle to work.
