Ordinary House 01 is in the western part of Kobe-shi. And this residential area is in the north side of the hill. Building area is approximately 60 square meters. The form is a square box, and there is the roof of sloping one way on the top. The exterior wall is finished in white plasterers. It is really simple.
There are connected dining room and Japanese-style room, parking lot, utility in the first floor. And there are 4 private rooms, terrace, restroom in right and left of a central corridor of the second floor. The restroom has the ceiling imitated a gabled roof, and the small window facing the stair hall. This “House in the House” is located in the center of the life line of flow as a symbol of the family ties. The interior wall and ceiling of the first floor are finished with white vinyl wall covering. The floor and doors are finished with wood, and the ceiling of the second floor is finished in OSB.
The kitchen, the washstand, and the bathroom consist of domestic ready-made units. We adopted only functional and simple parts of achromatic color. Unexpectedly such the choice are considerably irregular in the catalogue specifications of the domestic maker. We had to perform an elaborate procedure.
Ordinary House 01 does not have a strong impression, but is designed carefully. There is a faraway from the greed of the architect or product houses. Its appearance is light and tranquil.
