Beachaus II, a LEED Platinum prefab house built in White Rock, British Columbia, has been inspired by the modern beachfront homes that dot the California coastline. Designed by Elemental Design, developed by InHaus Development and built in 5 modules by Method Homes, the sleek design uses some of the top energy-efficient technology.
The BeachHaus II project has resulted in an ultra modern 2000 sqft 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom home that includes a large separate office/studio space and stunning bright principle spaces. The design strives to take advantage of the available light, while maximising privacy and views of the bay.
Given its LEED Platinum certification, the house is extremely energy efficient with high-performance windows, a tight thermal envelope, HRV air-exchange system and efficient spray foam insulation. Even the yard is efficient with partial irrigation from rainwater collected from the roof.
The house is located less than 200 meters from Semiahmoo Bay, and it’s designed for “smart” modern living. InHaus development is a boutique home developer that creates homes built to “live smart, not large.” The BeacHaus homes are built to reflect the homes built along the California coastline and are the first homes in the South Surrey area to be independently LEED certified. Anchored by a solid concrete foundation construction that contrasts with the airy design — including 12-foot ceilings.
